Hi Kat great to see you again Bigarm what a shame the Stelara has stalled for you ....sounds like a move to cosentyx will be a good one as you are now experiencing joint pain in your hands and ankles ... I guess the sooner the better to get back on track Kat

Good luck my friend Bigarm

Fred you have my vote!!!

Thanks Jim!!!

I'm not totally convinced that the hands and ankles aren't osteo as well. I've had problems with my ankles before with bone spurs and from what I've read those are associated with osteo. But time (and doctor's) will eventually go one way or the other. The rheumatologist did images of the knees and hands, agreed the knees were osteo, from the images and my descriptions said the hands are possibly psoriatic (no test for that as you all know) and we didn't cover the ankle joints until after the images so he is only going by my answers to his questions on that one. I had just assumed my ankles were either bone spurs or osteo and figured that was a discussion for primary or orthopedic doc.

I had my last Stelara injection in November 2018.  This picture was taken shortly after that.

Things are a bit worse now but my Stelara injection for February didn't happen since we've decided to switch to Cosentyx.  I had a dermatologist appointment last week and once they get the necessary bloodwork, it shouldn't be long before I start Cosentyx.  I'll start a new thread and attempt to post pictures as I go along.

I think Stelara is a great treatment, however it didn't really work wonders for me.  It definitely did help but just couldn't seem to clear me after a certain point.

Shame the stelara isn't doing its magic on you as well as you would like but Great to hear that you should start cosentyx soon Thumb I hope it works as well for you as it does for most sufferers that manage to get it
Good luck I look forward to reading of your progress

Here is hoping that Cosentyx turns out to be "just what the doctor ordered" for you. Wink
