By the way Fred still having problems with the e mail and I don't think that it will be until next week when I get it sorted.

Dave

No problem I'm ignoring error alerts for your email for now, let me know when it's sorted and I'll test it.

I started a thread about tonic somewhere ...................................... here it is. Tonic Water

I just had a quick glimpse over your thread now Fred. Glad you seem to be feeling a bit better today after your shot! Fingers crossed that the Stelara will continue to work for you.

Thank you CC, it's been very good in the past so maybe this was just a blip.  Thumb

found out that Quinine is a natural white crystalline alkaloid having antipyretic (fever-reducing), antimalarial, analgesic (painkilling), and anti-inflammatory properties. Now I don't know if there is any thing in this but in the last couple of days I have noticed the psoriatic arthritis is a little less painful. I should point out that it wasn't to bad anyway, but anyone with PsA will know what I mean when I say you can often feel it, and you know if it's feeling better or not.

Quinine has been used to also treat Malaria, Lupus (a systemic autoimmune disease), nocturnal leg cramps, and arthritis.

Dave says --that's sounds good Fred I will try it out next time by using a larger glass with more gin so I can get a bit more tonic in it.
It looks like that the Stelara shot is going to be OK .

Small update almost two weeks since taking my 90mg shot and have had no problems with the Zombie effect, I've also not noticed any headaches or anything unusual.  Thumb

The psoriasis is clearing again though it was only a small flare anyway, however it's not helped one little bit with the psoriatic arthritis.  Thumbsdown

So unfortunately it does look like it has run it's course and can no longer help with psoriatic arthritis, but I can still highly recommend it for psoriasis.

Now for something I never thought I would say. "I have backed down and asked for Poison Methotrexate" I ended up with no choice in the end as there is nothing available to me at the moment, and if there was I wouldn't be able to use it anyway after a 90mg of Stelara. And if I don't do something soon I will go crazy, as at the moment I'm still in a huge amount of pain and life is becoming increasingly difficult by the day. I'm not even capable of driving the car and for an ex driver this is very frustrating, life has just become one big struggle.

I'm starting on Methotrexate Injections Monday and will start a new thread about it, as I don't want to be on it long if I can help it and would rather keep this thread about my use of Stelara as it may help others.

And I'm happy to accept all the finger pointing to some of my posts where I condemn Methotrexate and say it should not be used, but in my defence it's take it go and find a rope.
(Only joking about that last bit as I wouldn't be able to throw the rope over a beam, or climb up on the chair)

I don't think anyone would point the finger and condemn you for doing the only thing left open for you . Yes many of us hate methopoison but I would never say never again about it
I know it's been a hard decision for you to make. But I think if it will get you back some quality of life it will be worth the red face  Blush I think it shows great character
I for one look forward to reading of your experience and hope it goes well  Thumb

Sorry to hear that you are still having PsA problems still, I am not as bad as you Fred but I do know what it's like ,if MTX is the only way to go then really you do not have much choice . It has been used a long time so it extremely safe if you discount the possible side effects which you should be OK with then it will help with the PsA.

Now Fred, this time a big disagree with Dave.
MTX is dangerous but your know that already.

Be careful, have yourself regularly checked!!! We cannot miss you Bigarm

P.s. Wished you would be able to e.g. follow the path of Bill, or go a bit outside the system without telling the system.

Oh it's still Poison as far as I'm concerned, and I would advise everyone to leave it well alone.

They are taking bloods once a week, and I will soon stop if I feel anything is not right.

I'm already thinking of a different approach, but I'm going to give this a try first in the hope I can get mobile again as it's getting me down.
